We may have missed the leaf color but the weather is looking good.  Saturday will turn cold so pack some warm layers. And always pack rain gear. 

With the departure of Daylight Saving Time sunset Wednesday will be at 4:42 pm. Google says Dunlap is a 2 1/2 hrs drive from Hendersonville. We need to leave in time to begin riding by 11:00 am if the long riders are to get back before dark without hammering the entire way.  Day 1 was copied from a pre mapped ride by a local tourism group who placed points of interest for snacks and restrooms.  I can't verify their accuracy. Pikeville may require some noodling to find food and water.  I did not indicate a place to eat in Spencer figuring it should have a mom and pop place not listed. The only place I see on Google is a Subway.  Finding places to eat in Dunlap and McMinnville is part of the adventure.

Ride with gps Routes

Here's my best guess at itinerary (Updated 11/8/22)

Wed:  

- Phil and Tom leave Hendersonville by 8:30 to arrive at Dunlap by 11:00 am.
- Dave fetches Bruce,
- Tim and Ray drive solo. 

All arrive at Dunlap Police Dept. I've cleared with the Dunlap Police.  It is the appropriate place to park.  

- Bruce, Dave, Tom plan to do the 30 mile option.
- I assume Phil, Tim, and Ray will do the 50.  

Short riders can scout for place to eat in Dunlap and communicate to long riders. Or we can load up and drive to McMinnville, check into motel, then eat in Mcminnville.
